Dad we miss you...
This site is dedicated to George John Leslie Powell born 13th July 1913 and died 23rd December 2006. We miss you Dad, you will always be in our hearts and our memories.

George is survived by his sons Keith, Chris and Adam, daughters Susan and Marion, 11 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and his younger brother Bert.

He enjoyed extensive travel during military service in Egypt, Burma, The North West Frontier and the jungles of Malaya, where he obtained an MBE.

Central Chancery of the Orders of Knighthood. St James’s Palace, S.W.1 The QUEEN has been graciously pleased to give orders, as on the 30th August, 1957, for the following appointment to the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, in recognition of distinguished service in Malaya, during the period ending on that date:-
